INTERACTIVE PIXeL WALL IN MAÇKA PARK, ISTANBUL
The concept of a wall is to create two different realities separated by this wall made of wood. Out of the wall, surfaces would be formed by the allocation of linear elements projected in different lengths from the rigid grid of the wall.
At the starting condition of the wall, the linear elements on one of its sides would make a flat surface (zero information), and on the other side they would make an organic surface defined by the algorithmic formula (pre-set information by the designer). Then comes the user role in the design, when the flat side of the wall would act as a blank canvas where the user could add to the pre-designed surface on the other side of the wall by pushing the linear elements into the wall, adding information to the system of the wall, that would create deformation on the organic side converting the homogeneity of the organic form into a heterogeneous system made of two different layers of information -one by the user and the other by the designer. The visual result of the process would be an abstract shape of the interaction on the organic surface of the wall. The wall also act as park multi-use piece of furniture, by pulling elements outwards to form seats, tables and more.
